Moe's Flowers - Los Angeles

Moe's Flowers in Los Angeles is located on Melrose across from the famous Fred Segal.  It is my favorite flower shop in Los Angeles!  They have the most beautiful ready-made flower arrangements that I have ever seen. It is great when you need to pick up a quick gift and we love getting seasonal arrangements from Moe's when we have guests coming over.  Like this gorgeous fall arrangement...

We used this arrangement on our Thanksgiving table and it is perfect for the winter holidays so I am keeping it on my table as long as I can...their arrangements definitely last a long time!

I am not going to lie, Moe's is pricey but the quality is outstanding!  Everyone that we give Moe's Flowers to and everyone that comes into our home and sees our seasonal arrangements are blown away and can't stop talking about them!

Thanksgiving Table

I hope you had a fabulous Turkey Day!  Don't worry, this is my final post related to Thanksgiving, I am ready to move on to Christmas!  I am just posting a few pictures without any commentary or links but feel free to contact me if you want to know where anything is from or see my previous post here.

Pumpkin Muffins!!!

I just made the BEST pumpkin muffins and I totally cheated!  I made this spiced pecan quick bread from Williams Sonoma last year and loved it.  I picked up some this year to make as muffins for Thanksgiving morning or just for people to snack on throughout the weekend. 

OMG...I forgot how good they are and how great they make the house smell!  I am so excited for my family to get here this afternoon and be welcomed by the wonderful smell of pumpkin spiced muffins!

Thanksgiving Cocktails

Thanksgiving is a time to catch up with loved ones, a time to give thanks for the many blessings you have received throughout the year and a time to reflect back on family traditions... 

The Macy's Day Parade playing in the background while the smell of turkey fills the air.  Football on TV and in the front yard, pumpkin pie and stuffing....but really, what is Thanksgiving without a stiff drink?

I love Thanksgiving and I love my family, but lets face it, the holidays are stressful and a Thanksgiving cocktail makes the day much more enjoyable.  And sometimes you need a drink(and deserve one) when you are seated next to Aunt Edna.  Hope you enjoy these festive cocktail recipes...and your Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving Table Coming Together

I can't believe that Thanksgiving is so soon!  I of course had to pull out my decor over the weekend to make sure that everything was coming together...and I think it is coming along nicely!  My dining room chairs and curtains have orange tones and fall colors in them so I used neutrals on the table.

The pumpkin place card holders are from Williams Sonoma.  I was not sure if I would use them but once I put them on the plate, I was in love!  The wheat bundles are from Whole Foods.  I put them in wood containers that I already had on hand and the wood vase in the middle is leftover from an old floral arrangement.  I am going to put pinkish orange and white flowers in it closer to Thanksgiving.

I went to Pottery Barn over the weekend to pick up linen napkins in flax to match the runner that I bought online.  The napkins are sold out online but they had a ton in the store.  I also picked up some acorns while I was there because they are on sale from $14 to $6!  The silver candle holders are also from pottery barn. 

I can't wait until it all comes together!  I will post after pictures later this week!

I am craving fall comfort food and I finally added some new Pins to my Pinterest boards! I thought I would share them with you in case you are looking for some dinner inspiration.

I have a date night planned with some friends to watch Love Actually (thanks to my friend Nick for reminding me that it is quite possibly the best holiday movie ever) and I think that this tomato soup and grilled cheese would go along perfectly. 

This lasagna also looks to-die-for!

Travel Tuesday - Viva Las Vegas

THE COSMOPOLITAN LAS VEGAS

We just stayed at the Cosmopolitan hotel in Vegas and loved it!  It is a new hotel that was built as a condo and then turned into a hotel.  The details in the room were very high quality and the decor was refreshing!

The bed was so soft and comfy!  Loved the white bedding with blue blanket.  I also loved the headboard, wood paneling and sconces behind the bed.

Everything they used in the room was very stylish!  Love that they used a blue velvet, tufted sofa!   We felt like we were in our own little condo and not a hotel.

Even this console under the TV in the living room was well thought out with cute accessories on top and pink ottomans underneath!

 

The bathroom was huge!  There is a bathtub right behind the wall that you can't see and the shower was amazing.  The marble and tile they used in the bathroom was beautiful.

Here is one more shot of the living room.  I just wanted to show that I even approved of the carpet they chose and I would use the leather chair in my own home.  Also, notice the cool books on the coffee table and colorful throw pillows.

I really enjoyed staying at the Cosmopolitan.  They had a great list of restaurants to choose from.  We ate at STK and it was DELICIOUS!  If you go you must stop by the Spa...Amazing!



Heirloom Book Company on One Kings Lane!

I'm back...Phew!  From St. Louis to food poisoning to Vegas, I have been out of commission but I am happy to be back!

And I am so happy to be blogging about Heirloom Book Company!  Heirloom Book Co. is a store that carries a variety of books about food and culinary arts.  They have new cookbooks, rare vintage cookbooks and, the store is just so darn cute!  I have been meaning to blog about them but have been waiting until I could dedicate my time and energy on a quality post for these guys.  See, Heirloom Book Company is near and dear to my heart as one of the owners is my Cousin, Bryan Lewis!  They are having a sale on One Kings Lane tomorrow and I am beyond proud so I just HAD to let everyone know!  Check it out below and P.S. this is just a sneak peek, more to come on this fabulous store soon!

Elle Decor Dining Room

This dining room is in the November 2011 Elle Decor.  There is a lot going on in here that I love...some parts of the room remind me of my own dining room.  We have a smaller scale, oval table that is ebonized and on casters like the table above.  We also opted to use white painted chairs instead of matching the finish on the table.  I love the books on the dining room table...I have mentioned before that we have books on our dining table at different times throughout the year.

What my eye is drawn to the most in this room is the Jonathan Adler rug.  I want this rug!  I have seen it before in blue and loved it but there is something about the gold/yellow and white that really makes my heart skip a beat.

So, I went to Jonathan Adler to look for the rug and to my pleasant surprise...you can customize the whole rug!  How much fun is that?  I want to make a tan and white combo for our bedroom.  You can make it online but I want to go into the store and see the color samples in person before I order.

Here is a picture of the brown and white one that is available online.  They are 100% llama's wool and super soft!  Hope you are having a good week!  I was out of town for work and got a small case of food poisoning so I am a little behind...

Loving Donatienne Handbags!

Donatienne is a new line of handbags created by my good friend Nikki Erwin.  Nikki was influenced by her California roots while designing her collection. The Donatienne website says that she was inspired by, "Saturations of blues and greens from the ocean, yellows from sun bleached hair, pinks and purples from childhood beach towels."

What a great way to bring color into your winter wardrobe!

Tyler Florence's Wayfare Tavern

The Wayfare Tavern in San Francisco is the creation of Celebrity Chef Tyler Florence.  I have not been there to eat yet but I am dying to go.  This post is all about the design.  I think they did a fabulous job!

Starting on the outside, I love the boxwood plants by the front door (of course), love the black painted wood, love the  black and white striped awnings and love the lanterns.

Love the dark walls and the fireplace!

Love that they used Windsor chairs for the dining chairs!

I am giddy over this bar!
