Hamptons Home by Ken Gemes

The season premier of Revenge was on last night.  Now we can all start fantasising about Hamptons homes and the Grayson mansion again.  I have posted about the Hamptons house on Revenge before here.

The stunning Hamptons home in this post was decorated by the talented Ken Gemes.  His design firm is based out of Bronxville, Ny.  Per his website...having spent his childhood in Georgia and adulthood in the Northeast, his sense of style is a blend of Southern comfort with New York sophistication that creates classic contemporary homes. 

The architecture and attention to detail in the design by Ken Gemes are impeccable.

My cute dad has been cooking more and is looking for recipes so I thought I would post a few of my easy favorites!  I have most of these Pinterest but I don't think my pops has that figured out yet.

I make these turkey burgers almost every week on a grill pan or in the skillet.  I don't make the yogurt sauce and they are still delish!  We also eat them without the bun...but it sure looks good all together like that!

On a side note -  Google was telling me that I was out of storage space so I emptied my Picasa and it was still not letting me download any pictures to Blogger.  I waited a couple of days for my new storage space from my deleted photos to register with Google but it didn't happen and I could not hold out any longer and I bought more storage.  I am sure this is some sort of scam but oh well!  At least I am able to post Travel Tuesday on Wednesday!

 

 

We were in Aspen last year for a short trip and I fell in love with the gorgeous city! The people are so nice and the town is just picture perfect. I had heard so much about the Hotel Jerome so I had to check it out while I was there. It is full of history and I respect the way they have preserved the hotel but there was something missing for me.  What do you think?

 

I received a flyer form Auberge Resorts in the mail, they are now operating/managing Hotel Jerome and are in the middle of the most spectacular renovation that will be done this winter!

What do you think?  Did they go too modern?  I don't think so, Aspen is a hot and happening city and I think it fits in nicely.  It still has a very rich and important feel to it.

 

Love this room with the green love seat!  I can't wait to visit the newly remodeled Hotel Jerome on my next visit to Aspen!  It will be ready just in time for Ski Season!

Design Crush - Huff-Dewberry, Inc

Huff-Dewberry, INC is a residential interior design firm in Atlanta, Georgia.  William C. Huff, Jr. and Heather Zarrett Dewberry are the talented designers that make up Huff-Dewberry, Inc.  You might remember this home from the August 2011 Traditional Home issue.  There is something very calm and peaceful about this house that I am really drawn to.  I love the rich fabrics and they did an amazing job with the lighting...love the lanterns above!

Africa House at Royal Malewane

Woohoo for some color!  Yesterday I posted some of the common areas of the Africa House at Royal Malewane.  I said that I would post the colorful and luxurious bedrooms today and I was not lying, these are some colorful and luxurious rooms!  I love all the rich fabrics and furnishings.  Lots of jewel tones and beautiful details.  You truly feel like you are in someones home with collected antiques and not in a hotel villa.  I hope you are inspired by the following images.
