Easy and Light Chicken Saltimbocca

 

I made this for dinner last night and it was yummers!  My boyfriend always loves anything Italian inspired so I thought I would give this Chicken Saltimbocca a try when I saw it in the current Cooking Light.

 

The sauce is VERY lemony and when I tasted it in the pan I thought that it was going to be too tart but when I spooned it over the chicken it came together nicely!  I might try less lemon and more chicken broth next time but this is definitely a new favorite.

Travel Tuesday - Borgo Egnazia

Borgo Egnazia is a breathtaking resort located in Puglia, Italy.  Borgo Egnazia resort is now famous for being the location of Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel's wedding.  My best friend in Los Angeles was lucky enough to attend the wedding and she said that it was spectacular and that Borgo Egnazia is amazing!  Check out the pictures below...

 

Borgo Egnazia has guestrooms, townhouses and villas.  The best part is that you don't have to be a celebrity or rich and famous to enjoy this resort.  I checked out the prices and rooms start at $200!

Halloween Party Decor and a Sneak Peek

It has been baby shower central around here!  We hosted a shower at our house this past weekend, I did floral arrangements for a shower a couple of weeks ago AND the grand finale is a baby shower in Nashville, TN for my bestie.  The shower is this weekend and I just got my banners and signs from Loralee Lewis and I am in love!  I had to give you a sneak peek without spoiling it for the mamma to be!

This is a Deathly Hallows Dinner party inspired by Harry Potter.  How much fun would it be to have a dinner set up like this in the backyard!

I highly recommend getting your printed decor for your next party from Loralee Lewis.  The customer service was wonderful, they answered all my questions and printed everything exactly as I requested. 

Very excited to show you details from the baby shower in Nashville...and speaking of Nashville, have you watched the new TV series, "Nashville"?  OBSESSED...great cast and great decor!  More on that later!

Hollywood Hills Home by Michael Smith

I came across this Hollywood Hills home on1st Dibs.  The talented Michael Smith decorated this lovely home and you can definitely see touches of his signature style. 

I love the classic and timeless details throughout the home.

This bedroom is so serene and cozy!

The outdoor space is my favorite part.  It is a private retreat in the middle of the Hollywood Hills.

 

I could have breakfast or dinner out here under the chandelier.

Design Crush - Ken Gemes Interiors

Ken Gemes Interiors is a design firm in Bronxville, NY.  Per the Ken Gemes website, having spent his childhood in Georgia and adulthood in the Northeast, his sense of style is a blend of Southern comfort with New York sophistication that creates classic contemporary homes.  What a great description of Ken Gemes's style.  Take a look and see if you are crushing on his work as much as I am....

Product Love - Spiced Chestnut Candle

I have blogged about the Williams Sonoma Spiced Chestnut Products before.  I started out with the hand soap and hand lotion.  Then a few years ago I tried the kitchen candle and it is fabulous!  It has a warm chestnut scent, spiced with cinnamon and cloves.  It is a great scent without being too strong and can carry you from fall all the way through the end of the holidays.  Last year I couldn't find it online, I think it was sold out,  but I looked early this year and it is in stock and on sale!  Woohoo!  I am ordering one now.

 

I recommend all the products in the Spiced Chestnut scent, especially the hand soap...the diffuser is quite lovely as well!  Happy Fall, y'all!

Travel Tuesday - Ellerman House in Capetown

We stayed at the Ellerman House in Capetown during our trip to South Africa.  It was such a treat to stay here.  The hotel is beautiful and you feel like you are in a friend's home and not a hotel.

This is the porch off of the room we stayed in.  We had a corner room with a wrap around porch and watching the sunrise and sunset was amazing!

Another guest room.  All the rooms are very different and each one is uniquely decorated.

Right next to the traditional house there is a modern villa that you can rent.

The Ellerman House has an outstanding art collection and at the bottom of the property there is an amazing modern art gallery. 

The spa pool is very calming.

We ate breakfast every morning by the open window.  The food was absolutely delicious and the restaurant is only open to hotel guests.  We never had dinner here but we did try the scallop appetizer one night while we were having drinks.  Hands down, it was the best scallop that I have ever eaten and I have had a lot of great scallops.  There was a bacon and creamy potato situation going on that was to die for!  We still talk about them!

Here are some pictures of the property.  It was so much fun to walk around the green grass and look at the view and then back up at the hotel.  You really feel like you are at your own private villa.

While we were there they were in the process of switching out the paintings in the art gallery so excuse the empty walls.  How cool is this space and the wood floor though!?
